New Music

Hey Friends,  I am really excited to tell you all about this new CD.  And Have Not Love is the solo debut of my good friend Todd Berger, who was also one of the master minds behind Enter the Worship Circle: Village Thrift.  Todd and I have been able to work and sing together (he did some cameo vocals on “How Can We Sing” from Fill the Fields), and he is honestly one of my favorite worship leaders.  His words and music flow out of his own life, but he also demonstrates an incredibly prophetic ability to capture the movement and perspective of many different people.  In a world that is desperate for music that breaks us out of our individual perspectives, and worship music that moves us beyond a single gathering, listening to Todd’s music brings a wonderful Catharsis.  On a composition level, he weaves together sounds and tones that pull at your heart (and sometimes make you want to dance).  It is truely impressive and beautiful. I also had the honor of co-writing a song with him, “Stand Strong,” with which he imparts hope and promise and helps us see the story of others.

So if you’re looking for some good stuff, you can download the album on his website, toddberger.com!

House Concert Footage and Podcasts from the Road!

Hey Friends,

Well, I failed miserably at the twitter like blogging I had aspired to.  It quickly took a backseat to any chance I had to be still and silent.  The tour was amazing, though the strong introvert in me had to work extra hard to stay healthy while traveling on my own for most of the tour.  I was, however, able to stay glueten and dairy free on the road.  I did a mix of house concerts, worship events, speaking and collaboration.  If you want to experience a little bit for yourself, my friend Tracy Apps recorded the house concert she hosted in Milwaukee (and took some cool pictures including the one above).  It was viewed live on Ustream by people in 7 different countries.  Go to http://livingroomsessions.com to view the whole thing!

Also, I did a few collaborations with my friend Lisa Sharon Harper who just wrote a great book retracing the roots of activism within Evangelicalism.  I collaborated with her and poet Jonathan Walton and we put together a 60 minute multi-art, dramatic presentation capturing the stories of individuals as well as the North American Church over the last couple of centuries.  One of the performances was recorded and can be listened to in its entirety on the New York Faith and Justice website here: www.nyfaithjustice.org.

As for me, I am doing some essay writing and blogging and yoga over the next month, and then hope to take December off (mostly).  But don’t worry, updates will continue!

Much Peace, Tracy
